I’m a software engineer based in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada and I’ve been building software for healthcare imaging for seven years.

Before diving into software engineering, I spent over a decade designing and securing enterprise network infrastructure and became really comfortable with routers, firewalls, proxies, Linux and Windows servers. That work taught me how to build systems that can handle pressure, and what actually happens when they don’t. When pivoting into code, I carried the same infrastructure mindset over.

My software engineering career started automating testing inside complex healthcare imaging software systems, seeing every layer of the stack from a quality standpoint and understanding how they’re built, where they break, and what it takes to make them reliable. Over the years, I’ve gained hands-on experience working with Python to create automation frameworks, using Docker and Kubernetes to containerize services, and designing CI/CD pipelines. I also know my way around Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, NoSQL/SQL, and now I’m expanding into full-stack development and integration of applications with AI.

Experimenting with Generative AI since 2022, from chatting to coding, then local models, now agents, I’ve learned when it’s helpful and when it isn’t.

Lately, I’ve been:

  • building ASTRA, an AI-powered testing assistant that cuts regression effort by 90%
  • self-hosting open-weight LLMs, not only for learning purposes, but also to support heavy engineering users
  • developing AI-driven testing workflows
  • mentoring colleagues on responsible, AI-assisted development
  • adopting Open Source Agent Harnesses such as Hermes Agent and OpenCode to support a variety of daily activities

Actually, I’ve been interested in AI since the early 2000s, but that’s a whole blog post in itself! :D

I really enjoy building software, regardless of whether it’s test automation, tooling or a product.

When I’m not working, I’m tinkering with my home lab, playing with my AI agents, turning ideas into software, or writing about that here.
